I started practicing yoga for the physical benefits in 2011 when I went to my first Bikram class. I was immediately hooked and through exploring the various other styles of yoga, I later found the benefits far exceeded a healthier body. Through learning about the 8 limbs of yoga, I found stillness in the mind, deeper breathe, and other areas of my life started to change, like my diet, my relationship with my body, and relationships with other people, to name a few. Most people on the path of yoga have similar stories and even after practicing for all this time, I still uncover new gems. It is my goal to share this ancient wisdom with others and hope they can find similar joy on their path, with themselves.
I completed my teacher training in 2016 with Diego Baldi at Inner Wellness Studio in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, where I formally qualified in the traditional Hatha Vinyasa style of yoga. This was taught with a strong Iyengar influence which focuses on alignment and building strength, and is excellent for injuries and correcting posture. I also had a solid Yin influence, which stretches into the deep tissues of the body.
My method of teaching blends Hatha, Yin and Nidra styles of yoga to open up the body through creating flexibility, with a focus on alignment to gently build strength. I believe that when the body is approached in care and gentle discernment, the mind-body connection can be reestablished which can then create stillness.
